My Rainbow Buys 8/24/11

First Transaction:
Free: Nesquik
Shelf cost: $25.51
Paid: $19.01
Got: $13 gift card
Savings rate: 25.5% (But, remember I have $13 to use on my next transaction!)

 Second Transaction:
Free: Toothpaste, dish soap
Shelf cost: $27.26
Paid: $2.29 (used $13 gift card for part of it)
Got: $6 gift card
Savings rate: 91.6%
Third transaction:
Free: dish soap
Shelf cost: $29.99
Paid: $15.73
Got: $5 gift card
Savings rate: 47.6%
This one should have been 64.2%, but I got my gift cards mixed up, and ended up leaving the store with $11 on my gift card to use next time. I don't usually like to leave with money on the my gift cards, but oh well! Next time my savings rate will be even higher!

How are you getting the gift cards?

They are hanging next to the checkout lane, and if I don't have $25 (to get my coupons to double) in one transaction, I'll buy a gift card to get up to $25. Then I'll use it to pay for my next transaction.

OH, I thought you were getting them as rebates or something. Got it!
